Safety and emergencies

What to do if something goes wrong, and how to ride safely.

In an emergency, call 911

If you or someone else is in danger, hurt, or a crime is happening, call 911 right away. Tell them where you are, the car's colour, make and model, and which way you're going.

Call 911

After you're safe, report the person in WeFlok so we can act on it.

Before you ride

  • Check the person's profile: photo, rating, reviews and badges.
  • Keep chats and payments in WeFlok. Never send money by e-transfer or share bank details.
  • Meet at the pick-up point shown in the app, somewhere public and well lit.
  • Check the car's colour, make and model match the app before you get in.
  • Use Share my trip on the Trips page so a friend knows your driver, car and route.

During the ride

  • Everyone wears a seatbelt, every time.
  • Drivers: no phone in your hand, no driving tired, and never drive after drinking or using cannabis or other drugs.
  • Riders: if you feel unsafe, ask to be let out somewhere public and safe. You never have to stay in a car.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, it's okay to cancel.

After the ride

  • Leave an honest review. It helps the next person decide.
  • Report anything that made you uncomfortable, even if it seems small.
  • Block someone you don't want to ride with again. You won't see each other in WeFlok any more.

Reporting a problem

  • Use Report on the person's profile or in your chat with them. Reports are private: they aren't told who reported them.
  • For anything else, email support@weflok.co.
  • To report a crime that isn't an emergency, call your local police non-emergency line.
  • Cancelling less than 2 hours before a ride shows on your profile, but if you cancel because you felt unsafe, tell us in a report.
