Community rules

WeFlok works because neighbours trust each other. Everyone who uses WeFlok agrees to these rules.

1. Be respectful

  • Treat everyone with courtesy, in the car and in chat.
  • No harassment, threats, insults, sexual comments or unwanted contact. No swearing or rude emojis in messages.
  • No discrimination because of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other personal trait.

2. Safety comes first

  • Drivers must have a valid driver's licence, valid car insurance and a safe, roadworthy car.
  • Drivers follow traffic laws, don't use a phone in their hand while driving, and never drive impaired by alcohol, cannabis, drugs or tiredness.
  • Everyone wears a seatbelt, and the number of riders never goes over the seats the driver listed.

3. Be honest

  • Use your real name and a real photo of yourself.
  • Drivers list the car they actually drive. Riders book the seats they actually need.
  • Reviews must be honest and about the trip. Don't offer or ask for good reviews.

4. Be reliable

  • Be at the pick-up point on time, and let the other person know in chat if you're running late.
  • If your plans change, cancel as early as you can. Cancelling less than 2 hours before a ride shows on your profile.
  • Drivers: if you cancel a rider's ride home, you also aren't paid for bringing them in that morning.

5. Keep it on WeFlok

  • Chat and pay through WeFlok. Don't share phone numbers, emails, social media or banking details, and don't ask others for theirs.
  • Keeping everything in the app protects your privacy and lets us help if something goes wrong.

6. Share costs, not a business

  • WeFlok is for sharing the cost of a commute you're already making. Prices stay within WeFlok's limits.
  • Drivers don't charge extra outside the app, and don't use WeFlok to run a taxi or delivery service.

7. Respect the car and the time

  • Follow the driver's trip preferences, such as no smoking or vaping, food, pets and luggage.
  • Keep the car clean and leave it as you found it.

When rules are broken

Report it from the person's profile or your chat. Depending on what happened, WeFlok may warn the member, suspend their account, or remove them for good. Anything dangerous or illegal can lead to immediate removal and may be passed to police.
